MN branch of the World Hwa Rang Do Association. Please feel free
to have a look around, and we hope you enjoy your time at our site.
This site will assist you in learning more about our Academy and
our martial art, Hwa Rang Do and our undergraduate program Tae Soo
Do.
As a student of this martial
art you will develop strength and learn to strive at developing
your maximum potential. Here at our school all ages of children
and adults experience many positive benefits gained through the
growth that training in our system provides. Please check back often

Buddy Week - February 8th
- 13th!
Buddy week officially begins Monday the 8th through
the rest of the week so, reserve those dates for yourself and ask
friends & family to join you for this special week. Let them
know that this is a week when we invite friends and family to get
a good workout and learn material in a "seminar" style
format. This Open House week is also a chance to meet with Instructor
Sirny and learn practical effective and practicle techniques from
one of the top martial arts teachers in the Twin Cities area. CLICK

FREE Self-Defense Classes
In the hopes of bettering our community, the Hwa
Rang Do Minneapolis Academy is opening its doors and expertise to
the general public for FREE Self-Defense Classes. While our regular
curriculum has tons of effective self-defense techniques and concepts
for our students, we feel it is important for everyone to learn
something just in case the situation arises. Our school really wants
the neighborhood and community to be a positive and safe place for

2010 Minneapolis Dojang Calendar
As you all know we like trying to organize the year and all special
events related to training and your involvement in them. So
the master calendar for all major events and testings for the coming
year is  set
and finished. Just like the past years, this will NOT change unless
something major happens, so please take note of the BIG events like
seminars, tournaments, parties and also take a moment to think about
your testing hopes and plan out the dates you will need. There are
copies on the front counter of the school or the online version
is right here.
Hwa Rang Do 2009 Champions
In the biggest Hwa Rang Do / Tae Soo Do tournament of 2009, accumulative
champions are acknowledged for their outstanding performances. The
top finishers in ALL divisions (open hand forms, weapon forms, kick-punch-throw
fighting, grappling, & weapon fighting) are tallied, and who
ever won the most high places are the champions! This year, our
very own Instructor Alyssa Marlenee won the highest award for Best
Female Black Sash. The tournament was filled with outstanding competitors
and the matches were extremely tough. Congratulations to all who
participated!

Tiny Tigers Have Arrived
Due to the huge demand in our Little Tiger program we have expanded
to create more opportunity for the youngest Tigers. From 4:30 to
5:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday there is now a "TINY
TIGER" class for the 3 & 4 year olds. This is a great
way for the smallest of Tigers to jump into the martial art world,
with a very fun and energetic class. While similar to the Little
Tiger program, the children will learn martial art moves along with
listening and social group interaction skills - but always with
A LOT OF FUN!!!

know more about what we do and what we are about. We offer age specific
and level appropriate training for all ages of children starting
at age 3! Training is ongoing, so just drop us a line if you are

For those of you who are students or faculty (or simply live very
near) don't forget there is a Hwa
Rang Do / Tae Soo Do Club at the University of Minnesota, Twin
Cities campus. This club is quite a bit of fun, filled with great
energy and solid training. For more information please checkout

HERE. There is also a new club at the Seagate Technology
Corporation. This special partnership between the Minneapolis
Academy and Seagate will help the health and productivity for Seagate
employees. Club members will also be able to train onsite during
the day, and then come to the dojang at night. Congratulations to
Seagate for making mental and physical health a priority in the
workplace!
