Class Schedule

Here at our Academy we have many classes happening all week long. In fact, here you will be able to learn more skills and more types of material under our roof than in any other martial art school here in the Twin Cities. The structure of our class schedule also provides an effective means for you to progress through a very thorough martial art journey. If you are interested in our school please set up an appointment with our staff to learn more about our school and what classes will be appropriate for the goals and reasons you have for training. Everyone is welcome to a FREE trial class, so just go ahead and setup an appointment or just show up to our beggining classes (Junior or Adult TSD GBP).

Please look for details and descriptions about all of our classes under the "Programs" menu of this site.

HWA RANG DO® - The true graduate studies in which the individual learns all aspects of the martial arts & its applications. Emphasizing balance in both the martial and healing arts, HRD possesses more than 4,000 techniques, 365 kicking combinations, over 108 weapons, and an understanding of the natural strength and weaknesses of the human body - making it the most complete martial arts system in existence today.

TAE SOO DO® - The undergraduate Hwa Rang Do® program is designed for the beginning student. It helps one build a strong foundation and learn the inner mechanics of the martial arts. Most importantly it gives one a better understanding of the fundamentals required for more advanced training. Great for both adults and children looking to begin the martial art journey.

BBC - The Black Belt Club (BBC) is for students who have made a commitment to attaining the coveted black belt in either TSD or HRD. The BBC program is for the student who wants to take his/her training a step further and maximize one’s potential through greater refinement and additional training.

TGT/TKC - TGT stands for (Teuk Gong Team) which means special forces for Tae Soo Do®; and TKC (Team Kwan Chang) for Hwa Rang Do®. They are the selected elite students of role models and assistant instructors. In this class they learn intricate technical knowledge, how to teach, and develop leadership skills. Open upon special invitation only.

TAE JUN SA - This is a group of students on a voluntary admissions policy, who want to make a commitment to becoming a Hwarang Warrior to promote and further spread the Hwarang Spirit throughout the world and working toward the preservation of Hwa Rang Do® for the next generation. This is an accelerated training program and all members are required to become instructors.

GO TOO GI - This class will focus on takedowns and grappling techniques for effective submission fighting. This is a must for anyone interested in becoming a complete martial artist. This class is open to all students 12 years and older. The only other equipment you'lll need is a WHRDA approved Go Too Gi uniform.

MUGI DAERYUN - Learn how to effectively use a weapon in an actual sparring situation. This is done in the traditional manner to understand the true swordsmanship mentality first with a Jukdo (bamboo sword), then move to staff and even double swords! Class involves detailed training with a Jukdo, then once you become proficient and get your armor – the real fun begins with actual weapon fighting!

ACROBOP - Want/need to learn how to fall properly? What about learning advanced acrobatics? Well, this class is geeared for you! Learn how to effectively land and bounce along the ground through various rolls, handpsrings, flips, etc. This class will help complete your sense of physical awareness as you flip around the mats. Begginers are just as welcome as advanced practitioners. If you have never done gymnastics before - no problem, as now you can learn the step by step approach to this realm of movement. This is an important part of one's sense of physical development so don't miss out.

FIGHTING FIT - This class is open to the public and other friends and family members who are not regular students! Get in the best shape of you life by training for full contact fighting without ever having to fight! Fighting Fit, or Kyuktoogi, is where you will learn all the techniques of full contact fighting in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. No belts or uniforms required.
